  1. Share my network with rising women leaders

    Make it possible for more women to take on leadership positions as managers, experts, entrepreneurs, chairpersons and board members

  2. Actively promote women as role models

    Emphasize the importance of women’’s leadership and entrepreneurship both in my daily work and through public platforms.

  3. Endorse and make women leaders more visible

    Create professional opportunities for rising future leaders by opening doors through mentorship and sponsorship, which in return will inspire next generations and pay it forward.

About – Bakgrund

Globally, there is a lack of women representation in leadership roles in both the private and public sectors. Whether on corporate boards, as entrepreneurs, or important economic decision-making roles, women represent a much smaller percentage of leadership positions than their economic contribution, education levels, and business successes would indicate.

Since 2007, the Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth (Tillväxtverket) is commissioned by the Swedish Government to coordinate the “Promoting Women’s Entrepreneurship” program. The program focuses on promoting growth and renewal in Swedish industry by increasing the number of companies that is run and developed by women.

A part of this program has been working with the subcommittee for leadership in the International Council on Women’s Business Leadership (ICWBL) in order to give more women the opportunity to reach leadership positions.

This mission has been stated in the Golden Rules of Leadership, first presented by the then U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, in November 2012.

The Golden Rules of Leadership is an initiative to create gender equal leadership and entrepreneurship. It means that both women and men in leadership positions at all levels and in different sectors, commit to consistently and persistently work with giving women and men the same opportunities to reach leadership positions.

Several international and Swedish politicians and entrepreneurs have already committed to follow the Golden Rules. The intention is to spread the initiative worldwide and to get more people to sign the pledge, further increasing opportunities for more women to reach leadership positions, both today and in the future.
